Overview

We were instructed by a homeowner to carry out a septic tank survey at a recently purchased property to assess the condition and performance of the drainage system.

What we did

We carried out a full inspection of the septic tank and associated drainage system, including CCTV inspection of the connecting pipework.

Our report included

  • Assessment of condition and identification of any defects

  • HD photos and videos to support our assessment

  • Annotated map of the site, overlaid with the drainage network

  • Key findings and our recommendations

What we found

  1. A ten-metre dipped section of pipe retaining wastewater and causing foul smells in the property

  2. A blockage in the outfall from the tank to the soakaway, resulting in backing up of foul waste in the infall pipework.

Outcome

Our detailed report clearly identified the causes of the issues and outlined the recommended remedial works.

Working alongside the client and a trusted contractor, the system was restored quickly and efficiently. Full drainage performance was reinstated, preventing further issues and providing the client with peace of mind.
