Overview
Working alongside UTSS Ltd, we carried out a detailed pre-construction drainage survey at Lister Hospital in Stevenage to support plans for a proposed hospital extension over an existing car park.
Pre-construction drainage surveys are an important part of any development project, particularly on live healthcare sites where disruption must be carefully managed.
By assessing the existing drainage infrastructure before works begin, the project team gained the information needed to make informed design decisions, plan around existing services and reduce the risk of unexpected drainage issues during construction.
What we did
The project required a clear understanding of the drainage assets beneath the proposed development area. Our team completed a full condition assessment of the underlying drainage network, helping identify the location, condition and suitability of existing assets before construction works begin.
Using specialist drainage survey equipment, we mapped and inspected the system to provide accurate reporting for the design team. This helped inform the extension design, reduce uncertainty and support early-stage risk management.
